Regarding discounts, State Farm’s rates are designed to be competitive while accurately matching price to overall risk. Rather than relying heavily on individual item discounts, our pricing reflects the full exposure of the policy as a whole. Because we insure homes at replacement cost, the age of your roof or siding doesn’t reduce the cost of a claim—we are required to pay for new materials regardless. For that reason, the age of existing materials doesn’t typically lower the premium.

Some other carriers may offer lower prices by covering only the depreciated value of certain items. While that can look like a discount upfront, it often means the homeowner receives less at claim time. Our goal is to make sure you’re fully protected when you need it most.
